ALAN BRUS, DVM

Dr. Alan Brus earned his bachelor of science degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating with research honors, in 2012. He attended veterinary school at the University of California at Davis in 2016, where he was awarded the Dr. Viki Krade Memorial Feline Medicine Award and was accepted into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honors Society in his junior year. He completed a general medicine and surgery internship at the acclaimed Animal Medical Center in New York City where he received extensive training in emergency and internal medicine. Dr. Brus then completed a neurology and neurosurgery specialty internship at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA. He is currently attending Brandeis University studying for his Master’s degree in neuroscience. He has a special interest in neurology and neuroimmunology and plans to carry out research in diagnostics and therapeutics for neuroinflammatory conditions. He is currently working as a medical team leader at Merrimac Valley Animal Hospital, where he has a passion for education of his clients and staff alike. When he is not working, he enjoys board games, crafting, and learning. He is currently learning chess and spanish. He lives with his two cats, Rascal and Mello. He is excited to join the review board for Emergency Vet 24/7!
